i love the vintage design on these local breweries trays from the 1930s and 1940s. we actually have a simon pure ale tray that i found1 at an estate sale. ah, the things you buy just for the cool design. would love to ad the other 2 to my collection someday. sigh.

this past weekend my hubby and our friends went for a hike at chestnut ridge in orchard park, ny. i’ve spent many many days at chestnut ridge and have never seen the eternal flame. after a bit of research online we found the entrance to the hiking trail, which begins off  Seufert Rd andruns behind the park. there is actually a very well marked trail from this point and a mile in – the eternal flame powered by natural gas burning under the waterfall! more photos on flickr
