more and more shops are offering digital printing these days for the quick turnaround time and decreased cost in printing small quantities. but there are also green benefits to digital printing. a couple of factors to consider:
- toner is non-toxic and produces less chemical waste. Even soy based inks are made of a large percentage of oil which is not biodegradable. (soy ink has it’s benefits and is certainly preferred to a petroleum based ink.)
- there is less paper wasted in digital printing because you can print exactly the number of pieces needed for a job. with offset printing you have much more paper waste.
