friday’s featured artist: jenn ski

Friday, May 6th, 2011

this is an artist i just adore. i came across jenn ski’s work probably 4 years ago and have been a follower of her blog since then. i will have to feature her again in the future, because today’s post is dedicated to photos of the fabulous placemats i won in a contest on her blog. her work is very mid-century inspired which makes these placemats no different. they go perfectly in my home as continue to decorate in a mid-century style. love, love, love these! you can get your own in her etsy shop!

vintage chic wedding invitations

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

i created these wedding invitations last spring for a very classic themed wedding. the reception was held in a wonderfully fabulous turn of the century building and the bride had a fantastic sense of style. all of this led to these gorgeous, vintage-chic-with-a-touch-of-victorian-era-styling-invitations. they are now available in my etsy studio shop as a pre-designed invite. like the pocket fold style but want your own look? contact me and i can put a custom quote together for you.

classic with a twist: wedding invitations

Friday, January 21st, 2011

the perfect custom invite for a couple getting married in the spring or summer. whimsical illustrations with a touch of formality in the font used for the bride and groom’s names these invites are bright and cheery. they are a spin on the traditional 5×7 invitation. the folded size is 5″ x 7″, however a flap is added for extra dimension and interest. the flap that folds down features only the bride and groom’s names, when you open it you have a full and slightly larger invitation (open size is 7.5″ x 7″)!

mary poppins’ baby shower

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

the idea for these cards came from an etsy customer. about a year before the baby shower invitations she had ordered a custom version of my mad men invitations. when she was throwing another party, this time for her sister’s baby shower, she contacted me asking if we could do something similar for a mary poppins(1964) themed baby shower.  i just loved the idea and couldn’t wait to work on it!

if you are throwing a baby girl baby shower these are the perfect invites to set a great theme for the event. upon request they can be changed to blues for a baby boy shower, or even yellow or green for a gender neutral baby shower.

in keeping with the retro twist of many of my designs these cards are now available for purchase in my etsy studio shop. as always, convo me for custom orders!
