Monday, March 21st, 2011roll your mouse over to see the full screen (thumbnails will hide then!)
i am by no means a professional photographer. though i am a great admirer of many professionals out there. every once and a while i like to have a little fun with my camera when out and about, and there was just so much to see at the parade – i had to share! enjoy this little break from the usual here…
fabulous decor and wonderful design (delicious too!)
Friday, February 25th, 2011for almost my whole life i have traveled to st augustine just about once every year. i never get bored with it there – it’s like my second home. there is just so much to love in the oldest city. on my trip in november i discovered an all natural, made with real fruit, popsicle place in the old city part of town right there on hyppolita street. the popsicles – AMAZING.
i just came back from st augustine yesterday, a visit i had made with my parents and grandparents. while i was there i just had to make sure i got back to that popsicle place before i had to return home to the snow of winter. on the last day of my trip we made it in to the popsicle shop, which by the way is aptly named “the hyppo” for its location. much to my graphic designer mentality delight – they had amazing new labels on each of their popsicles. sweet! not only do these taste amazing, are all natural aaaaand they have good design? who could ask for more? the atmosphere of the shop, the cute little labels and the lovely little “hippo” collection on the old mantel in the shop charmed me so much i just couldn’t help but share. enjoy the photos!
retro shop – now open!
Wednesday, February 9th, 2011i have a small addiction. and i guess as far as addictions go this one is not so bad. i love, love, love thrift store shopping, garage sales, flea markets and estate sales. i’ve been decorating my house and stocking my kitchen with all my mid-century great finds. however there is more than i have room for, and sometimes i just can’t pass some great items up. solution? quit shopping? no way!
instead i am going to share the retro love and add a section to my etsy shop for all of my 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s finds. this is the solution to my over thrifting. better than becoming a pack rat right? and it fits right into the scheme of my design blog, beauty in everyday items, design is everywhere. every now and then i will be adding some more items to my shop and sharing cool finds here so check back often!
vero amore save the dates
Thursday, January 27th, 2011vero amore. thats ‘true love’ for all you non-italian speakers out there.
these save the dates are a great example of the perfect way to share your engagement shots with friends and family. this couple is calling on their italian heritage and sprinkling subtle bits of it throughout their wedding. notice the beautiful engagement shots with the great rustic wine barrels in the background, and just a little touch of the italian language in the verbiage. these are excellent ways to incorporate a theme subtly!
